Vibraphonist Mike Mainieri was a pioneer in introducing an electronic vibraphone, known as a "synth-vibe" and has recorded with such musicians as Buddy Rich, Wes Montgomery, Billie Holiday, Dizzy Gillespie, Benny Goodman, Coleman Hawkins, Jeremy Steig, Michael Brecker, David Sanborn and Steve Gadd. He co-founded the jazz fusion group Steps as well as the follow-up project, Steps Ahead. Mike performed for a live album by Laura Nyro, and was featured on several tracks from the Dire Straits album “Love Over Gold” as well as on "Ride Across the River" on the album “Brothers In Arms”. He performed on the albums "Heads" by Bob James,  “Heart To Heart” by David Sanborn and “Tiger In The Rain” by Michael Franks. He has also released numerous albums and videos as a leader for a variety of labels, most notably his 1980 album entitled “Wanderlust”, which featured Michael Brecker and other members of Steps Ahead. As a producer, he produced three albums for Carly Simon.

The Swiss Jazz Orchestra is Switzerland’s most busy professional big band, performing weekly in Bern. Additionally, they perform and record projects of varying stilistic content and have so far released 7 CDs. The SJO has performed with acclaimed musicians like Alex Sipiagin, Chico Pinheiro, Torun Erisken, Claudio Roditi, Jerry Bergonzi, Phil Woods, Buddy DeFranco, Jim McNeely, Bob Mintzer, Bert Joris and George Gruntz as well as with Swiss top musicians Andy Scherrer, Matthieu Michel, Nat Su, Domenic Landolf, Michael Zisman and Pepe Lienhard.

Peter Erskine has played the drums since the age of four and is known for his versatility and love of working in different musical contexts. He appears on over 600 albums and film scores, and has won two Grammy Awards, plus an Honorary Doctorate from the Berklee School of Music (1992). Fifty albums have been released under his own name or as co-leader. He has played with the Stan Kenton and Maynard Ferguson Big Bands, Weather Report, Steps Ahead, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Diana Krall, Kenny Wheeler, Mary Chapin Carpenter, The Brecker Brothers, The Yellowjackets, Pat Metheny, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson, Chick Corea, Bobby Hutcherson, Gary Burton, John Scofield, et al. Peter has been voted ’Best Jazz Drummer of the Year’ ten times by the readers of Modern Drummer magazine. He won his second Grammy Award as the drummer of the WDR big band in Köln for the “Some Skunk Funk” album.
